Jewelry Export & Shipping Process — Bali to Your Door

As a professional trade buyer seeking to import jewelry from Bali, Indonesia, you deserve a process that is both transparent and trustworthy. At Bali Hand Made Jewelry, we understand the intricacies involved in sourcing high-quality handmade jewelry from the renowned Celuk village in Gianyar. Our expertise in managing the entire supply chain, from enquiry to delivery, ensures that every piece you import meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and compliance.

  1. 1

    Initial Enquiry to Quote

The journey to importing exceptional Balinese jewelry begins with a simple enquiry. Our team at Bali Hand Made Jewelry is committed to providing prompt and detailed responses to your requests. Once we receive your enquiry, we assess your specific needs, whether you are a wholesaler, importer, or boutique retailer. Our quotations are tailored to reflect the unique requirements of your order, considering factors such as design complexity, materials, and quantity. Typically, a quote is provided within 2-3 business days. We offer flexibility in Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs), often in the tens of pieces per design, allowing you to mix designs for your initial order. This flexibility is ideal for first-time and wholesale buyers looking to explore the diverse range of Balinese craftsmanship.

  2. 2

    Sampling and Customization

Once you confirm your interest, the next step is sampling. We offer a range of sampling options to ensure the final product aligns with your expectations. Whether you require production based on your drawings, CAD files, or reference samples, our artisans are adept at OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) production. For those seeking customization, we provide private-label stamping and custom packaging options. Our sampling process typically takes 1-3 weeks, depending on the complexity of the design. This phase allows you to assess the quality and detail of our craftsmanship, ensuring that the final product meets your standards before proceeding to bulk production.

  3. 3

    Production and Quality Control

After sample approval, we move into the production phase. Our skilled artisans in Celuk, renowned for their expertise in techniques such as lost-wax casting and hand-fabrication, work meticulously to create each piece. The typical production lead time ranges from 3-6 weeks, depending on order size and design intricacy. Quality control is integral to our process; each piece undergoes rigorous checks to ensure it meets both aesthetic and structural standards. We offer nickel-free and lead/cadmium-compliant options, crucial for EU (REACH/Nickel Directive) and US markets. Our commitment to quality ensures that every piece is not only beautiful but also safe for your customers.

  4. 4

    Assay, Hallmarking, and Compliance

Compliance with international standards is a priority for Bali Hand Made Jewelry. All our sterling silver pieces are stamped with 925, indicating 92.5% pure silver, the export standard. For markets that require independent assay and hallmarking, such as the UK, we can arrange for this service upon request. Ensuring compliance with EU REACH and US regulations, we offer options that are nickel-free and adhere to lead and cadmium limits. It is essential to confirm your specific compliance needs during the order process to guarantee that all requirements are met.

Shipping and Documentation

Given the high value and compact nature of jewelry, we prioritize secure and efficient shipping. We offer international courier services via DHL or FedEx, as well as air freight options. Shipping is insured, providing assurance for your valuable imports. Typical transit times are just a matter of days, depending on the route. We handle all necessary export documentation, ensuring a smooth customs clearance process. Our standard shipping terms are FOB from Bali (Denpasar/Benoa) or CIF/courier-delivered upon request. Whether you are importing to the US, EU, UK, Australia, Japan, or the Middle East, our logistics expertise ensures timely and secure delivery.

Payment Terms and Lead Times

Our payment terms are designed to offer security and convenience. We require a deposit, typically around 50%, with the balance due before shipping. Payments are made via T/T transfer, with escrow options available for first-time buyers to reduce risk. Our lead times are competitive, with sampling taking approximately 1-3 weeks and bulk production around 3-6 weeks, varying with order complexity and size. Clear communication throughout the process ensures that you are informed and in control every step of the way.

Import Compliance and Risk Reduction

Navigating import compliance is crucial to reducing risk when importing jewelry from Bali. We provide guidance on adhering to EU REACH regulations and US compliance standards, especially concerning nickel, lead, and cadmium content. Our expertise in these areas helps you avoid potential pitfalls and ensures your imports meet all necessary legal requirements. Regular shipments to major markets like the US, EU, and beyond, reflect our experience and reliability in international trade. For additional assurance, we offer insured shipping and comprehensive documentation support, minimizing risks associated with international importing.

Understanding Balinese Craftsmanship

The art of jewelry making in Bali is steeped in tradition, with techniques passed down through generations. Celuk village, in particular, is a hub of creativity and skill, where artisans dedicate their lives to mastering the craft. The intricate designs often feature motifs inspired by nature and Balinese culture, making each piece a unique reflection of the island's heritage. Techniques such as granulation, filigree, and the use of natural gemstones are prevalent, adding depth and character to each creation. By choosing Bali Hand Made Jewelry, you are not just importing jewelry; you are preserving an art form that is integral to Balinese identity.
